Birthing or Raising?

As evidenced by the date of my last post, it’s been a while since I have written or worked in the vineyard. It has been said, ‘It is easier to give birth to the new than to raise the dead’.  The aches  and pains I have two days after spending Monday working the vineyard bear witness to the truth of that saying. The work of planting the new was easier than harvesting the fruit of neglect. Planting is energized by hope and vision. Neglect carries the strength sapping burden of guilt and regret.  “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message [declared by angels] proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” Hebrews 2:1-3a
